Is there anything in life that we can be absolutely sure about? Riots, murders, hurricanes, tornadoes, raging wildfires, betrayals, divorces, fatal accidents, and pandemics whittle away our confidence that we can live with any assurances. One minute our lives are great, but the next moment they are in total chaos.
Assurance is defined as a guarantee that something will happen. So how do we find that guarantee? It can only be found in the spiritual world—not the physical.
Following are ways to find assurance in a chaotic world:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16 NKJV).
God loves us so much He gave us his treasured Son to die for our sins. However, His love is not just a one-time act. In Psalms, David talks about God’s unfailing love. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you (Psalm 143:8 NIV).
My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27 NKJV). We can have God’s peace in the midst of turmoil.
Everyone in the world might leave us or shun us, but God’s Word promises He will be with us always. God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5 NIV). “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV).
God may not give us everything we want, but He will supply our needs. God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19 NIV).
Refuge is a place where a person is safe from pursuit or danger—a place of protection. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 NIV). Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed (Psalm 57:1 NIV).
When faced with difficulties, we often feel we don’t have the physical or emotional strength to deal with the crisis. We can turn to God and rely on His power. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness (2 Peter 1:3 NIV).
Jesus assured His disciples that He would see them again. “In My Father’s house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:2-3 NKJV). If we have accepted Jesus into our hearts, we will dwell with Him forever. For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens (2 Corinthians 5:1 NKJV).
I would love to hear how God’s Word has given you the assurance of His love, peace, presence, provision, protection, power, and eternity in Heaven. Please share your thoughts in the section below.
